Privacy Policy
Your home is personal. Here’s what stays on your iPhone, what happens when you visit this website, and how to reach us.
Your records stay on your device.
BreakerMap stores your properties, panels, rooms, circuits, device names, notes, photos, and test records locally on your iPhone. The app has no account system, advertising, analytics service, or cloud database. Jaret Priddy (“we” or “us”) does not receive your saved map or photos through the app. Core mapping and finder features work without an internet connection.
You choose your photos.
BreakerMap uses Apple’s photo picker. The app receives only the image you choose, compresses a copy, and saves that copy with your local record. It does not upload that image to a server or request broad access to your photo library. You can remove the saved copy in the app without deleting the original from Photos.
Charging information stays in the app.
The finder uses the iPhone’s charging state to detect a loss of charging power. Saved tests can include start, power-loss, and power-restoration times associated with a mapped item. These records stay with your local data. The app also stores preferences such as alert sound and appearance on your device.
You choose what to share.
PDF and JSON exports are created on your device. You decide where to save or send them using the iOS share sheet. A JSON export includes your saved records and photos. The recipients and apps you select handle those copies under their own policies; BreakerMap does not automatically send them to us.
Backups, retention, and deletion
Your local records remain until you remove them or delete the app’s data. You can remove individual photos and items or delete a panel or property in the app. Deleting a panel or property removes its associated mapped data. Deleting the app through iOS also removes its local data; offloading the app may retain its documents.
Your device backup settings may include app data in Apple or computer backups. BreakerMap does not provide its own cloud backup or cross-device syncing. Previously exported files, messages, and backups are separate copies: manage or delete them with the relevant recipient, service, or device. We cannot access, retrieve, or delete those copies for you. Importing JSON archives is not available in this version.
This website and links from the app
Opening Help, Terms, or Privacy from Settings loads this website in a browser. The request does not include your saved map or photos. Our website code does not set tracking cookies, include advertising or analytics, or send sample-panel searches to a server. The demo uses fixed examples in your browser and does not save them between visits.
The website is hosted using OpenAI Sites and protected by Cloudflare. Delivering and protecting the site can involve standard request information, including IP address, browser information, requested page, and request time. Cloudflare may run browser security checks and use security cookies, including __cf_bm, to detect automated traffic and reduce abuse. These security features do not receive your saved app records or photos.
Service-provider processing is described in the OpenAI privacy policy, Cloudflare privacy policy, and Cloudflare cookie information. We do not set the providers’ log-retention periods. Apple and other services you choose to open have their own privacy policies.
When you contact support
If you email us, we receive your email address, the name shown on your message, and whatever text or attachments you send. We use that information to answer questions, troubleshoot issues, and handle privacy requests. Please send only the information needed for your request; a complete home map or data export usually is not necessary.
Support messages are handled through our email providers, including forwarding and inbox services. They may process and store messages to deliver and secure email. We retain correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request, maintain necessary support records, or meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete correspondence; some information may need to be kept when required by law or to resolve an outstanding matter.
Your choices and privacy requests
We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. We share information you send us only as needed with service providers that operate the website or email, or when required by law. We use reasonable safeguards for information we receive, but no storage or communication method is completely secure.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information we hold, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to complain to a privacy regulator. Contact us to make a request. We may need to confirm that a request comes from you. For records that exist only on your iPhone, use the app’s editing, export, and deletion controls.
Children’s information
BreakerMap is designed for homeowners and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through support. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it.
Changes and contact
We will update this page and its effective date when our practices change. Material changes will be explained on the website or in the app, as appropriate; any notice or consent required by applicable law will be provided.
